2016 Dark Horse Rosé Review

Summer is here… and you know what that means? It’s Rosé season! This week we’re tasting wine from Dark Horse 🐴  This 2016 Rosé has notes of fresh red fruit and florals. The finish is bright and crisp. Incredible price for the bottle, too at only $7.99. I found this bottle at QFC, a grocery store chain owned by Kroger in Seattle, Washington.

“The Dark Horse Rosé boasts a refreshingly dry style that explodes with flavors of fresh strawberry, raspberry and citrus, blending with hints of minerality and floral notes, all racing toward a bright, crisp finish. Blend: 48% Grenache, 16% Barbera, 13% Pinot Gris, 12% Tempranillo, 11% Other Select Varieties” (https://m.wine.com/product/dark-horse-rose-2016/197819)

Below is a very helpful link from Matching Food and Wine that breaks down different kinds of Rosé and what pairs nicely with them. Rosé can be overwhelming to people who are just starting to become introduced to it, so this guide could be a good resource in helping someone choose what to purchase.
