Nefarious Cellars 2013 Viognier Review

This weeks Wine of the Week is a 2013 Viognier from Nefarious Cellars. This bottle can be purchased directly from their website for $20.

Notes:

“Bursting with aromatics of pear, papaya, nectarine, and lime zest. It’s summer in a glass and one of our perennial favorites. A little seafood on the barbecue, a warm evening, and a bottle of this is all we need. Styled to be a delicate wine; packed with apricot and grapefruit, a pretty side of floral notes, and just a hint of minerality.” (https://buynefariouswines.com/collections/wines/products/2015-nefarious-viognier-defiance-vineyard-pre-release)

Pairing:

We paired this lovely wine with fresh cod, an asparagus dish, leeks and challah (bread).

Unfamiliar with Viognier? Below is a link from one of my favorite websites, (I’m sure you already know this by now!) Wine Folly. Wine Folly does a great job at breaking down what a Viognier is all about and offers suggestions on different types of food to pair with it.

Cheers… and bon appetit!
